Samsung 837X Next Project
To celebrate the Korean heritage, Samsung recently collaborated with KOREAN NFT to create a special Samsung 837/NEXT Mosaic NFT with So Youn Lee and Nouns DAO for the fourth annual NFT.NYC. The company hosted 837/NEXT, an event series at New York Samsung 837, as well as in the metaverse at Samsung 837X and the Samsung US Discord community. Artists, creators, innovators, and the NFT community were brought together in the heart of New York City to celebrate and experience digital art and powerful installations.
So Youn Lee is a contemporary artist based in Los Angeles, CA. Recognized for her ethereal, dream-like aesthetic with explosions of colors and random textures, Lee’s work evolved from figurative art into her signature art style which centers around a child-like no-gender character named ‘Mango.' Mango reflects Lee's contemplation of 'what can be the essence of human being', and portrays the ideals and struggles of human existence as aliens and voyagers in her work. Mango(s) explores the universe and beyond with their companion dog Choco, to learn about oneself and experience the world.
The week included an all-new collaborative art quest in Samsung 837X that curated a non-fungible token (NFT) mosaic masterpiece. Korean contemporary artist, So Youn Lee, partnered with the company to bring this idea to life as Samsung fans contributed in-person and online from the metaverse and Samsung US Discord server through their custom Noun avatars. Some of the lucky participants received exciting prizes such as Nouns glasses, 837/NEXT artist’s jumpsuit wearables and one winner was awarded the ultra-rare Golden glasses.
The Samsung 837/NEXT Mosaic NFT project also caught the attention of people around the world. Samsung is playing a leading role among large global companies. In addition, it shows active steps in introducing an NFT platform to new products. With Next Project, the mosaic NFT art was screened on the main billboard of Times Square which generated a lot of attention.
The artwork uses the unique avatar of Nouns DAO created by Samsung fans to express Samsung's multiverse. A Samsung member stated, "This is a project that can see Samsung's strategy for the web3 market, and it can be of great significance that NFT works are screened on the Times Square billboard." "It will be remembered as the precedent of many artists' brand collaboration projects.”
